Wisconsin cop kills 6 civilians

The dead and wounded were all students or graduates of Crandon High School. The gunman, Forest County Sheriff's Deputy Tyler Peterson, was a graduate of the school, which has a little more than 300 students....

... It was the high school's homecoming weekend, and the group had gathered for pizza and movies, according to The Associated Press.

Friends of the victims said Peterson, who also worked part time as a Crandon police officer, stormed into the home where the party was going on at about 2:45 a.m. Sunday and opened fire.

A SWAT team shot and killed Peterson later Sunday, said Crandon Mayor Gary Bradley.

The reality is just crazy, some high school grad of two years just like me lays out 6 fellow grads. Would personal handguns prevented this? To protect from an off duty police officer?

I don't think the issue of personal handguns is about re-enactments of shoot-outs at the OK Corral. Most people don't take their gun to a party. The off-duty policeman going postal (maybe he should have changed jobs!) is not the problem. Its the professional criminals and predators along with the Patriot Act which concern me.

Law abiding gun owners don't do "shoot-outs at the OK Corral" but someone may have had a chance to stop him. Wait, gun issues are on another thread.
