Mysteries

Approximately twice a week, I send beest a text that just says "fish". Can you figure out why/what it means? Or even get close? Or are you just not that bored?

1) Koi Fish?

Some of the characteristics associated with the koi include: Success, Longevity, Courage & Perseverance.

Many of the attributes of the koi symbolize several lessons and even trials individuals often encounter in life. The koi fish has a powerful and energetic life force, demonstrated by its ability to swim against currents and even travel upstream.

Symbolic meanings of koi fish stem from the Chinese legend of the Dragon Gate in which a koi fish swam upstream, through waterfalls and other obstacles to reach the top of the mountain. At the top of the mountain was the "Dragon Gate". The legend says that when the koi finally reached the top, it became a dragon, one of the most auspicious creatures in Chinese culture.

In feng shui, the koi is tied to the yin yang symbol. In fact, the black and white tear drops of the yin yang symbol are said to be representations of two koi, one male and one female. The eye of each teardrop is symbolic of the constant watchful eye of the koi. This pairing of fish is often seen outside the context of the yin yang symbol as well. For example, a pair of koi is often used as a good luck symbol for a happy marriage.

The koi is synonymous with harmony and happiness. The two yin and yang koi complete each other and create a perfect balance of the negative and positive energies of chi energy, which is the life-force of all things on earth.

2) A reminder to pick up some feminine hygiene products on the way home?

When you text Beest the word 'fish', is the word 'fish' a verb, or a noun?

Gravdigr 08-30-2017 01:05 PM

Does it mean to try to find something good in this day?

Does it refer to something specific to Beest?

Does it refer to the sprog in some way?

sexobon 08-30-2017 04:02 PM

Fill up the gas tank.

no, no and no, not really. But I feel like you're on the right track

Beest usually tells a sprog or two to do something in response.

Beest is always at home when I send this text.

Happy Monkey 08-30-2017 08:25 PM

Feed the fish?

sexobon 08-31-2017 02:00 AM

Close

Clodfobble 08-31-2017 08:46 AM

Move their swimming gear so you can get into the house?

sexobon 08-31-2017 04:19 PM

Clear their stuff off the table and set it 'cause you're bringing home something for dinner (fish & chips)?

monster 08-31-2017 06:01 PM

nope nope nope but close enough. If I had shopping in the car and needed a quick turnaround to unload and then go back out with a child to some practice, and I was waiting at the lights round the corner, I would text abbreviations of the road names at the intersection to let them know where I was so they could be prepared to help unload then go.

The abbreviations were Pack Carp. Which sounded kind of fishy and so became FISH. So now it means "Incoming Shopping ...be ready!" (I don't shop lightly so there's usually lots and it sure as hell ain't gonna be my job to put it away.)

sexobon 08-31-2017 06:59 PM

Very good. We shall reward your mystery with a song ...

Gravdigr 09-01-2017 11:55 AM

My Own Personal Mini-Mystery

So, there I am, minding my own binness...

I was reading the other night (Ralph Compton The Oregon Trail, if you must know), and I got dry-eyed and tired, so I put the book down and turned out the light. As I roll back over, "Wait, whut?"

There is something not right.

There is light coming outta my little Miller Lite bucket that I use for a trash can (because Miller Lite is garbage:p:). Light. In the dark. Comin' outta m'trash.:eyebrow:

I turned the light back on. Looked around in there for a minute, but, didn't find any answers. Light off. Faint greenish light coming outta m'trash.

I like hard candy when I'm reading. I have these faantaastic lollipops that I chop the sticks out of when I eat them. (What? I like lollipops, but, I ain't gay.:p:) They're really good. Bubble gum flavor. Cotton candy flavor. Wild cherry. Blueberries & cream.:yum: Strawberry shortcake.

I now know some of those lollipops have sticks that glow in the dark. Why? I guess so ya can see the sucker suckers coming in the dark, Idk.

I cannot tell you how hard I was working there for a minute trying to figure out just what the hell I was experiencing. My brain was a-sizzle, fo' shizzle. I'm kinda concerned actually. I was pretty confused for a minute.

Glow-in-the-dark lollipop sticks...What will they think of next?

evermant 05-06-2018 08:41 PM

Happy Monkey 10-10-2018 11:38 AM

Inside of a buoy?

xoxoxoBruce 10-10-2018 02:32 PM

Can't be a buoy, from the hole in the middle it must be a gull. :haha:

I'm sorry, the devil made me do it. :bolt:

Gravdigr 10-10-2018 02:55 PM

Thank Heaven for little gulls...

...cuz they grow to be wimmins.
