Feb 24th, 2018: Tentacular Helmet
Face it, Japan has given the world some strange shit. Hentai, pixilated porn, baked potato flavored Kit Kat, Owl & Kitten Cafés,
strange foods, and a whole lot more. Maybe it was years of isolation, or maybe fallout.
But apparently they come by this weirdness honestly… it’s inherited… it’s tradition.

Quote:
Koshotan-Nari-Zaboshi Bachi Kabuto, helmet with elaborate decoration in gilded wood in the shape of an octopus. Edo period (1603-1868). Japan, end of 18th century.
Considering when it was made, it’s likely this tentacular helmet was for ceremonial purposes only. Nevertheless, imagine the sight of a fearsome warrior charging into combat with a gilded cephalopod atop his head.
