Are you talking about power squeezin' ?

Most breath holding is unnecessary due to courtesy flushes......

Sundae 01-28-2008 08:48 AM

How can you hold your breath when you are yelling insults at the Evil God of the Chillies who is punishing you for eating his subjects?!

I was always brought up to believe that holding your breath when you poo makes you strain too hard and results in piles. I was also taught that suppressing your sneezes leads to ear damage and my Dad did, and is now hard of hearing.

So I don't risk it.

ZenGum 01-28-2008 08:59 AM

for once, I think Sundae's Mum is right.
In the recent hemmorhoids (piles) thread glatt advised against holding one's breath, since it prevents the blood around the rectum from draining.

Cor, we've been talking a lot of shit lately, haven't we? I mean, more than usual.

I think it's about the same amount as usual. There's a lot of shit around here you know.

Nope I sure dont!

Sometimes I probably do, it's just like holding your breath while weightlifting. It stabilizes your torso by hardening the diaphragm, but ultimately you should be developing core strength that isn't also restricting your oxygen intake.
