I'm not sure if this is bogus or not, but I thought the pictures were pretty neat. I suppose it could be true.

It's a dolphin, not a shark.

I wonder if he ever gets in the water and swims with her.

I remember the story in the first pic....its real, the dude was doing a story and that was the least intrusive way of following the Great Whites.

They said they often followed them and seemed really curious, but werent aggressive at all.

Clodfobble 06-18-2008 09:43 PM

Yeah, but the third picture is from a totally different time/place/story.

Hard to Believe

I thought sharks were preprogrammed to KILL, KILL, KILL. Hard to believe a shark could be a friend. You need to find a photo of a man and his pet rattlesnake. Here pet it, stroke it, sleep with it. :headshake

Aliantha 06-18-2008 11:33 PM

Well there have been pictures of snakes and furry little animals on this very forum before. They were friends.

I suppose stranger things could happen.

Ya swim with sharks y going to get BIT !!!
jst like the dude that Lived with bears and got EATEN !!!!

xoxoxoBruce 06-19-2008 12:05 AM

The first picture is real, but it's a researcher, not a fisherman.

The second picture, from the french magazine, is bullshit. It may have some basis in fact, but not related to any of the pictures.

Notice the toothy pictures are by Michael Scholl, of the Great White Shark trust. Smithsonian Magazine just did a feature article of Scholl and his work.

1) Dolphins' tails are horizontal. Sharks' tails are vertical.
2) Dolphins don't have gills. They breathe air to get oxygen to their brains, just like me and y ...um... just like me.

After gaining the shark's confidence, Arnold invited a few friends over for dinner.

Smithsonian - one of the best magazines for the sheer variety of topics it covers. Anyone who reads Smithsonian must be a decent fellow.
