Apr 25th, 2017: Embroidery

I got a freaky old lady
Named Cocaine Katy
Who embroiders all my jeans…

There’s embroidery and there’s miniature embroidery, then there’s this from Chloe Giordano, who describes herself as
an "Oxford based illustrator, avid reader, history lover and dreadful knitter".

For typical size this is it…

I get asked about doing workshops a lot, but so far haven’t gone for it as I worry that people wouldn’t get what they
anticipated - I work in a very intuitive manner rather than a clear step by step process, and rely a lot on my previous
experience painting and drawing, so it wouldn’t be a case of teaching you a stitch and supplying a pattern. But I’ve had
a couple of people tell me I’m completely overestimating people’s expectations, so I’d love to hear your opinions - what
would you expect from a workshop with me, would you be hoping to get an entire embroidery finished, and how close to
my own work would you expect it to be?

She also does jewelry as well as greeting cards which are imprinted with photographs of her work, which are in the first picture.

You can practically feel those fury little animals.

Totally first rate!!

Not YOU Gravdigr.
Although, that was a nice second-rate crack.

Mind.

Blown.

I can make a button stay on a shirt, but it usually involves blunt force trauma. This is amazing stuff at any size!

Not trying to needle you, but what's your point?

Gravdigr 04-25-2017 02:09 PM

Flint 04-25-2017 02:10 PM

In stitches? I'm a frayed knot.

Flint 04-25-2017 02:10 PM
