August 7th, 2019 : Welsh Slate Mine
In Ceredigion, Wales, is a slate mine which opened in 1836 and closed in about 1960.
Exploring the mine is very dangerous as it’s wet, slippery, and bits of slate fall from the ceiling. http://cellar.org/img/wales1.jpg But the biggest story was about 100 cars shoved through a hole in the ceiling over the last 50 years. I’m sure some insurance companies would be interested in the VIN numbers of those cars. http://cellar.org/img/wales2.jpg Quote:

Looks like there is a whole lot more than autos piled up in there.
I seems possible that various volatile fumes would accumulate just waiting for an ignition source. |
Could be, of course some of it has been there 50 years.
