The neighbors cat got run over last night. She was killed instantly, and was buried in the yard.

I woke up the other morning because Diz had just jumped onto the bed.
I wanted to go back to sleep and pretend for a while.

Horrid, horrid, horrid. I have no idea who they are or what they're like but I feel for them.

I've yet to bury/ scatter Diz's ashes.
Most likely place will be on Arran. I left him alive a couple of times when I visited, thought about him, talked about him (to the Limeys, and a check-up call to Mum) and loved the Limeys' cats on his behalf. And I'm happy on Arran, even though he was never there.
He doesn't belong in my parents' garden - I still feel the wrench of not living with them too much.

Damnit man, get a cat, better yet a kitten. I don't want to hear that bullshit about I couldn't replace Slick, or it would remind me of Slick, or blah blah blah. Slick will always be with you, in your heart forever, not gonna change that. Do you think parents of three kids only love the first one? Sure, another kitty will remind you of Slick when they do something similar, or do something in a different way. But you'll smile and remember slick with a warm and fuzzy feeling. Do it, godamnit, I'll just have to put up with a million pictures of your new love.http://cellar.org/2015/banghead.gif

He'd be most welcome. He could be in our garden with Maurice (and Maisie, and Merlin). Or he could be your Permanent Representative at the Standing Stones on Machrie moor. Or wherever you choose. xxx
