Candidates are listed in order of nomination.

The job is:

Quote:

Moderators are added to the list of email addresses that get notified when someone reports a post. One would remove spam and forum abuse and things like this.

Moderators can do the following:
- Edit, move, delete posts
- Edit, move, copy, open/close threads
- Post announcements (make posts "sticky" at the top of the forum)
- View IP addresses
- Ban users
This is not a popularity contest but a way to figure out who should have additional power for the benefit of the community. Full disclosure: although I have the ability to see who voted for whom, I won't peek, I sincerely promise.

The vote will be open for five days, ending at approx. 11:59 am EST Feb. 8. (Or whenever I notice time is up.) Thanks all for participating.

This is done.

I don't think I've ever seen a sticky post in the Cellar. I didn't think we did that here.

Undertoad 02-03-2012 12:17 PM

We can, but you threw me there, because this thread was not sticky.

but it should be and so I've made it that.

HungLikeJesus 02-03-2012 12:29 PM

It's listed as one of the moderator superpowers in your note.

classicman 02-03-2012 12:32 PM

What is this "sticky"?

wolf 02-03-2012 12:32 PM

I visit another site where the mods are sticky happy, to the point of the concept being useless. When you have to wade through three pages of sticky-ness before you can get to the new threads, it just really doesn't make any sense at all. Of course, they're one of those sites with animated avatars and colors that make your eyes bleed, so I don't go there often.

Aw geez. Look at this sticky mess. Soapy water won't even touch it. Will WD40 cut through it or make it worse?

You need "Goo-B-Gone"

HungLikeJesus 02-03-2012 03:06 PM

The problem started when somebody put the jelly on before the peanut butter. That got jelly in the peanut butter jar.

They also used Wonder bread, and the jelly soaked through and dripped all over the Cellar.

Sundae 02-03-2012 03:45 PM

The problem started when someone left the motherfucking cake out in the motherfucking rain.

Voted BTW

infinite monkey 02-03-2012 03:49 PM

Would that be that old Airport Cupcake?

Sundae 02-03-2012 03:56 PM

You can call me Cupcake, I don't mind

infinite monkey 02-03-2012 05:22 PM
