Not nearly as many as there used to was, and this is far from all of them.

With over 1,000 vinyl discs I'm sure I have a lot of them. ;)

Dude111 05-25-2018 03:39 AM

Records are gorgeous! (If they are 100% analogue sourced :))

xoxoxoBruce 05-25-2018 06:35 AM

And the turntable is balanced and quiet, the stylus is tracking at the ragged edge of rattling in or wearing out the groove, the dust bug is catching every little bit of cat dander and your nose hairs, you're not too stoned to place the stylus on the lead in without a slide, and you don't wake up listening to the stylus making it's 33,000th trip around the last groove.

The warmth is great but it comes with a lot of work. I've done all of the above and much more. :haha:

"...listening to the stylus making it's 33,000th trip around the last groove."

Isn't there just one groove?

xoxoxoBruce 05-25-2018 12:49 PM

Yes, you're right. But after the music dies it overlaps to form the gutter. What you never heard that term? That's because I just made it up. :haha:

Yes alot of work indeed Bruce!!!

But isnt it beautiful?

I just got chicagos first album on 8 track and its goregous sounding! (I have the double rercord also)

xoxoxoBruce 05-28-2018 12:59 AM

Um, I don't think I've ever heard an 8-track that impressed me, regardless of it's source.
That's probably because I don't think I've ever heard an 8-track outside a car. :haha:

I used to have a home 8-Track Player hooked up to my quad at home back in the 70's.

Gravdigr 05-28-2018 01:56 PM

I first heard If You Want Blood, You've Got It (AC/DC live recording) on 8-track. It made a definite impression. Still my all-time favorite live recording. I bought the album later.

The 8-track player was part of an all-in-one the parents gave me after they bought one of them big, honking, wood console jobbees what took up the whole living room.

Dude111 05-29-2018 06:08 AM

Yup most 8 tracks sound gorgeous.... They are pure analog glory (As long as the source is 100% analogue of course)

glatt 05-29-2018 07:26 AM

Are there any 8 track tapes out there sources from digital sources?

Gravdigr 05-29-2018 03:47 PM

I do have a recordable 8-track tape.
