It's not all good news. The dickhead before me had the main fuse stuffed behind the fuse box instead of clipped to the face of it where it belongs, and it's a little worse for wear.

Yes, but you can find all this shit now, before it bites you in the ass. :thumb:

lumberjim 05-25-2016 09:34 AM

Yeah, I'll be going over it fine tooth fashion. This here could have ended badly.

Replacement parts are ordered. Glad I didn't have to buy the entire harness. Got a bunch of fuses too. Figure I'll just replace them all while I'm at it.

glatt 05-25-2016 12:11 PM

So was that the seat rubbing on that fuse? Every bump the guy's weight rubbed the seat against the fuse?

lumberjim 05-25-2016 01:06 PM

No, the fuse housing was back in where the swing arm goes up and down. Either lying on the drive belt, or getting pinched between the tire and the belt or maybe the swing arm.... I'm not sure. http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...540431f23b.jpg

Between the fuse box and the frame.

lumberjim 05-25-2016 01:09 PM

Anyway, it's supposed to be outside on the face of the main fuse box.

That's where it hooks on

Has a tab that slots into that groove.

This is on the outside, under the painted side cover in front of the left saddlebag

Most important tool. ;)

lumberjim 05-25-2016 02:31 PM

Close. The MoCo service manual in front of it holds that honor. And the can of liquid wrench penetrating oil next to the Golden monkey is up there too.

lumberjim 05-25-2016 07:08 PM

Well, all the parts are at the painter now. Went through books looking for a match to the blue on the seat and came up with....

Nissan 2005 blue B16 matte. under hood color.

Hmmmm... This does cut both ways.

We had a local High School principal who was a Jap art specialist and collector. Mostly expensive antique stuff, which was displayed at the school because he bought it with school money. They were excellent examples for the students to copy for art class. Seems he was choosing the best copies to display, and selling the originals on the sly. It took quite a few years to catch him.
