And why the fuck did United stand pat on $800? I heard somewhere that the actual number was several hundred dollars higher, and I *BET* they could have found four people for some amount of money dramatically less that the cost of refunding the fares for all 70 passengers... nevermind the hit to their stock price, the hit to their already well-established reputation (United Breaks Guitars), and what I reckon is the inevitable lawsuit/settlement.
