Will your sport/hobby kill you?

Some not so much, but hang gliding and base jumping have a good shot.

Mountains seem to be risky when they're tall.

I'm comfortable with this. I'd hate like hell to die at my desk.

Clodfobble 09-22-2018 08:41 AM

What the hell are those "black circle inside a white circle" bits supposed to convey? 1 in 167 is still nowhere near the majority of 167, as its circle seems to indicate.

Mt. McKinley National Park? The name of the park has been Denali for at least 20 years. I remember planning a trip there in the early 90s when it was called Denali. Was the park ever named McKinley?

xoxoxoBruce 09-22-2018 09:45 AM

It was Mt McKinley National Park from 1917 to 1980. In 1980 it became Denali National Park and Preserve, but the official name of the mountain remained Mount McKinley. In 2015 the name of the mountain changed to Denali.

The Black Dog was visiting this week. I think my hobbies do the opposite of killing me. Blue Bird Day on the slopes.

Competition? Judging? Or is that number like a ski slope ankle bracelet, keeping track of that wild and crazy guy? :haha:

I skied with a bunch of your people. GE Rutland hosted the 60th annual corporate challenge to which Pete got an invite due to a sub-contract, and spouses can play too. I managed to land in the top third of my age group, Pete won hers (albeit small group cuz gender equity was new back then), and the team we we skied for, GE Syracuse, took 3rd. The course was not challenging making it a skill thing rather than a brass balls thing... better up my skills for next year.

Well now I seen,
'bout every thing,
'cause I seen Griff,
on the corporate teem. :haha:

Congrats on your performance!

I just remembered you were Boeing not GE. Although it's not a great day to self-identify as Boeing.

xoxoxoBruce 03-12-2019 12:40 AM

In between the two stretches at Boeing was 17 years at Westinghouse Steam Turbine, GE was the enemy. Three mile Island was those damn GE Bwrs (boiling water reactor). ;)
But actually I never self identified with any employer, I was there for the money, slut that I am.

It's good to be a whore! :)
