American democracy; hey we're new at this just getting the kinks out.

Republicans are being nice and quiet and not getting in the way as the Democrats implode. As soon as a Republican speaks up, they will get torn down too. They are smart this time.

I suspect nobody will resign, but this may well destroy Fairfax's chances of being Governor. That prick Cuccinelli may run again and finally win.

I don't know if he spoke up, but we do have the first Republican of... I dunno.... "Virginia was the capital of the Confederacygate?". Senate Majority Leader Tommy Norment was, a couple decades earlier, the managing editor of the same yearbook the Northam picture was in, and it had the same sort of photos.

It's no secret all the military schools, north and south, were openly racist and sexist for as long as they could get away with it. It's wrong now, but I'm uncomfortable with this trend of projecting today's standards on past generations. Remember it's only wrong today because the majority(at least the vocal ones) believe it.

It's also wrong in the US today to eat puppies. But if most people wanted to eat puppies not doing so would not be the standard of behavior. :yum:

Puppies in America were once raised for the meat - just like cattle and pigs today. Has anything really changed other than the name?

Behavior in some institutions is more publicly acknowledged. Has anything really fully changed. Or has it only gone underground? Make one wonder what the original purpose of puppy mills were for.

Before Columbus. Dogs were the security alarm, fed well when plenty of game was caught, and slaughtered for food during the lean times.

They did not have cows, pigs, and chickens. Those only happened when hunters were replaced by farmers.
