Bud.

Aliantha 02-14-2007 09:37 PM

I just had a glass of water. I'm thinking I might have a drink tonight though. It'll either be a nice crisp chardy or a/several G & T/s with lime.

busterb 02-14-2007 09:40 PM

odd to think you're on tomorrow already.

Still Valentines Day here. beest did not take me up on the offer of doing the taxes and wills, so instead he's sat 10 feet away in ther next room and we're IMing

(he's testing/setting up a laptop we bought for his mum)

Aliantha 02-14-2007 09:45 PM

I just has a new laptop delivered today. It's very cool although I'm still on the mac now. The new one is for the kids to do their stuff on without destroying files that Dazza and I need on our computers.

monster 02-14-2007 09:54 PM

New comp for the kids?

Ours got the old one

Aliantha 02-14-2007 09:57 PM

Well the old one they were using kicked the bucket a few weeks ago. It was so old it didn't even run half the games they wanted to play. The kids do a reasonable amount of browsing too, so they'll take a lot less time now.

Dazza and I both have perfectly good computers, but they've got stuff on them that we can't afford to lose or have infected with viruses etc. We're just not willing to run the risk of the kids doing something wrong and crashing them.

Hence the new comp. It's not just theirs. It's more the family comp, but I'd say they'll use it more than either of us.

Cloud 02-14-2007 10:00 PM

no drinking on the laptops!

Aliantha 02-14-2007 10:08 PM

Drinking on laptops leads to spending money unnecessarily. ;)

monster 02-14-2007 10:32 PM

Why don't they come with cupholders? Everything else over here does. We've tried the cd player, but it just can't support a full bottle, plus it keeps trying to retract...

Aliantha 02-14-2007 10:40 PM

Well I'm not going to worry too much about it. The kids are banned from having food or drink near the computers anyway, so hopefully it wont be a prob for us. :)

zippyt 02-14-2007 11:01 PM

the rule ( when the kids were younger ) was NO drinks around the key board , then the FIRST week my wife spilled a glass of wine on/in the key board , I fixed it , but she still got us a new one the next day.

oh Blurblin and coke

Cloud 02-14-2007 11:13 PM

oh, Blurbin. Is it blue?

bluecuracao 02-15-2007 04:35 AM

Evian water--yuck, tastes like plastic. I *wish* I had some nice hot coffee, it's freezing in here!

Sundae 02-15-2007 07:33 AM

Just had a mug of Rhubarb & Blackberry tea.
Forgot it until it was lukewarm then gulped it down - feel like a big bag of bloat now.

Happy Monkey 02-15-2007 09:31 AM

Tea. Earl Grey. Hot.

Elspode 02-15-2007 09:35 AM

Coffee with sweetener and ultrapasteurized creamlike vanilla-flavored fluid fatty substance.

LabRat 02-15-2007 10:21 AM

Oolong loose leaf tea from a local coffee house. Not crazy about it. Smells wonderful, but a bit bitter. Will try their other one some other morning.

I just bought some oolong from a chinese place in Portland. It is weak and not bitter at all. I am just wondering why your oolong is bitter?? Where was yours manufactured? What brand? Mine is a cheap brand from China. Grand Tea Co.

Cloud 02-15-2007 10:45 AM

that powdered creamer is nothing but hydrogenated vegetable oil and sugar. Even real cream is better for you.

monster 02-15-2007 12:31 PM

tea, tea, more tea, diet coke, coffee, tea, diet coke, tea, tea, tea, diet coke...

and my tea mug holds a British pint :D

Mine too! Is yours see-through?
People keep making comments about thinking mine was a measuring jug. Harharhar. How bloody weird do they think I am that I'd be drinking out of a measuring jug?!

Am now drinking my last cup of the day.

monster 02-15-2007 12:43 PM

no, ceramic. And we have a lot of them. No point messing about with dainty cups and sticking the pinkie out when it come to the daily tea ration :D

Sundae 02-15-2007 12:49 PM

My mug!

And I've left the pic uncropped so you can see that the word of the day is "fagot"

Cloud 02-15-2007 05:14 PM

Hey I have a mug just like that. came with a tea infuser.

But this here's Texas, and we drink ICED tea--and a hell of a lot of it.

Trilby 02-15-2007 05:24 PM

Trilby 02-15-2007 05:25 PM

bluecuracao 02-15-2007 07:17 PM

Just finished a can of Dr. Pepper, first one in YEARS. It was wonderful.

monster 02-15-2007 07:52 PM

back to bud

SteveDallas 02-15-2007 07:53 PM

Ginger Ale.

I have a sinus infection.

Cloud 02-15-2007 08:46 PM

Amber Bock.

My closest convenience store has a very limited choice of beer.

so what does "fagot" mean? I know a faggot is a bundle of sticks. (Rumor is that homosexuals were burned at the stake along with witches in the Middle Ages, which gave rise to the term. But I think that's just a rumor.)

Clodfobble 02-15-2007 09:48 PM

IBC Black Cherry soda.

Ibby 02-15-2007 09:51 PM

Nestea!

...ew.

Beestie 02-15-2007 10:36 PM

warm milk.

Nobody say nuthin.

Urbane Guerrilla 02-16-2007 12:48 AM

Well, it ain't Grape Nehi.

Full Sail Amber, "12 fluid ounces of ridiculously tasty original amber ale concocted by our massive brewforce of 47." They print it with an underscored space for the number.

bluecuracao 02-16-2007 01:44 PM

A horrible cup of coffee, from a place that's supposed to be famous for good coffee. Tastes like it's been cooking too long. Barf.

monster 02-16-2007 06:52 PM

guess...

Cloud 02-16-2007 10:58 PM

absinthe?

monster 02-17-2007 02:55 PM

close....

although now it's back to the tea and diet coke regime.

Cloud 02-17-2007 05:56 PM

Jamocha shake from Arbys.

monster 02-17-2007 05:58 PM

and now bud again

What is that? I know it's what Radar always drank on MASH, but I have no idea what it is. Also I always imagined it was 'knee-high'.

I am rather drunk on a combination of Chardonnay and Pinot Grigio. So much for my resolution to cut down alcohol......am currently sipping a greentea in the hope of staving off tomorrow's hangover.

bluecuracao 02-17-2007 06:45 PM

It's grape soda, very purple. I think they make other flavors too, like orange and "red" (strawberry maybe?)

Perry Winkle 02-17-2007 06:59 PM

Omegang something or other, tastes like wood shavings in pond water.

I have a whole, unopened bottle of absinthe from Prague. It intimidates me.

I think I'll have a bit of Becherovka later.

limey 02-18-2007 02:51 AM

1 pint of coffee (fully caffeinated) ... time to go to work soon!

Hmm....I have some rather vague memories of an interesting absinthe soaked weekend a few years ago. Me, Judah, my bro and a couple of others.....a couple of bottles of good, strong continental absinthe...that's about as much as I recall:P

Cloud 02-18-2007 05:05 PM

I hear oozo and coke is good . . . but I'm afraid!

Right now: St. Pauli Girl Special Dark.

Urbane Guerrilla 02-20-2007 04:04 AM

Ouzo or raki, all the same. I found I prefer taking my raki without a splash of water --a traditional way of taking it, sort of the East-Med answer to bourbon-and-branch -- as this somehow caused me to twitch, whereas drinking it unmixed did not. No idea why.

However, chasing one's drinks at the evening's end with half a liter of water will do much to relieve a hangover, most of whose symptoms are caused by dehydration. Metabolizing alcohol will dry you out, which is why Mohammed forbade his followers to drink wine -- desert weather will dry you out quite sufficiently without help. Having a store of water in you for your body to draw on will literally keep your humours in balance.

King 02-20-2007 10:39 AM

Apple Lucozade.
