I must have one of these. I could ride it all over the woods around here.

Those things used to be slower than Xmas. I guess they've prolly moderned up some.

It depends on who owns the woods.

Yup, used to be 5hp Honda motor, now it's been upgraded by 40 percent to a 7hp no name motor.

A few years ago, when looking after some horses in a particularly vicious spell of winter weather, I was given the use of a Honda Quad Bike to take water (troughs were frozen solid) and hay out to the fields.

The Quad could best be described, in terms familiar to the cognoscenti, as absolutely knackered. It was still great fun to drive/ride and I'd love to have one of my own...

However, I do know that the damned things can bite!

Ozzy Osbourne was seriously injured yesterday in a quad-bike accident at his Buckinghamshire home that left him with a broken neck vertebra.
The 55-year-old rock star also broke his collarbone and six ribs at his home at Chalfont St Peter, according to a statement released by a publicist speaking for him in Los Angeles.
It said Osbourne was at Wexham Park hospital in Slough last night having an operation to lift his collarbone, which was believed to be resting on a major artery and interrupting blood flow to his arm.
Surgeons were also trying to stem bleeding into his lungs, according to the statement by Cindy Guagenti. His injuries were not considered to be life-threatening.

Dream mode now switched to standby. Off to do the washing up. :)

The places I was thinking about are city and county parks. There are several clubs around, so finding a place to ride should be no problem.

My poker-won scooter (ScooScooScootio) has a 7 hp/150cc engine, and it'll do 50 mph. Not known as a torque monster, though.

I've passed a car or two on it.

That does look like fun fargon.
