Cover Tunes on YouTube

Know of someone with a great cover of a great song? Put it here.

I fell bass-ackward over this tune a few years ago, and finally decided to throw it up onto YouTube, cuzz it wasn't there already.

TurkeyNeck covering the BeeGees' 'Staying Alive'. It's awful, but it kinda grows on ya, like fungus. (I get a kick outta playing this for ppl and watching their face when they figure out what song it is. If you like the BeeGees, this ain't that.)

At first I was like "Me First and the what now?" But by the halfway point I was tapping both feet and bobbing mah head...

Stealin' it now.:bolt:

Ramones cover of one of my favourite Dylan songs, My Back Pages.

I absolutely love Johnny Cash's cover of the Nine Inch Nails tune "Hurt", but, try as I might, I just can't listen to it, and watching it is even worse. It makes my eyes leak.:sniff:

I like this, too. Cash again, this time covering Soundgarden. 'Rusty Cage'.

"Vincent Black Lightning 1952" covered by The Del McCoury Band. If you've only heard Richard Thompson do this song, you may not be prepared for this version, but, of the two, I like this one better.

The second song they sing is good, too, but they go all gospel-ly on yer ass.

johnny cash should have done more covers

Since we've brought up Richard Thompson how about this excellent cover of a less-than-classic-song.

I read a description on another forum somewhere where the writer described Thompson as taking a piece of pure pop pap and turning it into a song with soul and a little bit of the sinister about it.

I was fortunate enough to catch Richard Thompson's act a few years back on the 1000 Years of Popular Music tour. What a talented performer. A genuine virtuoso on the guitar.
