Dang.

Carruthers goes four for five!

Glatt, get those typing fingers limbered up, you have a rep to defend, and this last one will be too easy...

Ready...

Kid Rock

glatt 08-01-2014 11:21 AM

I don't think I ever heard of Ronnie James Dio.

Unless, was he that guy in the band that never made it big and they made a documentary about him so he finally got a little fame from that documentary? I saw that film, but it wasn't memorable enough for me to retain the name.

Edit: Nope. I just looked it up. I was thinking of Anvil.

Gravdigr 08-01-2014 11:23 AM

Aaaaaaaaand we're done.

Carruthers goes five for six, counting Little Queenie. And only one Brit in the bunch!

I really thought Ronnie James Dio might be a stumper, but, then, I thought that about Gene Simmons also, so, go figger.

Carruthers, you da man, man.

:notworthy

Gravdigr 08-01-2014 11:30 AM

Actually, The woman in the mechanic's coveralls was not Queen when that picture was taken (if, indeed, it was taken during WWII).

So, if she wasn't Queen, would HRH & HRM still apply, pre-Queen-dom? If not, she still has not been identified.

Glatt, here's your chance to not get skunked!

glatt 08-01-2014 11:32 AM

Oh, he can skunk me. He earned it.

HRH - Her Royal Highness when she was Princess. HM - Her Majesty when Queen.

Gravdigr 08-01-2014 12:03 PM

He looks like an aged-up version of Clark Gregg from 'Agents of Shield'. I mean really looks like him.

For some reason, I want to say he's Australian (the guy in the pic).

Gravdigr 08-01-2014 12:08 PM

I went ahead and cheated, as I knew I had no clue.

H. F. S...

You can tell it's him, he's still recognizable.

This was a Grade A "Who Is This?".

Dio was lead singer for Black Sabbath (post Ozzy), Rainbow, Elf, as well as having a stellar solo career.

Dude threw THE best concert I've ever been to, as far as theatrics go.

Give this a listen, from 1984's "The Last In Line", prolly his biggest solo hit.

I am officially dubious of Carruthers' success at "Who Is This?"

fargon 08-02-2014 07:14 PM

I use Google image search all the time. Just right click on the picture, then left click on "search google for image". Enjoy.

BigV 08-02-2014 07:26 PM

just not to answer the question "Who is this?" in this thread, eh?

glatt 08-02-2014 07:52 PM

I shall trim my mutton chop whiskers, don my No 1 dress uniform, repair to my room in the officers' mess, drink a loyal toast to Queen Victoria (Gawd bless 'er) and 'have an accident whilst cleaning my revolver'.

I have brought dishonour on the regiment.

sexobon 08-03-2014 12:02 AM

Before you go, pass the Port and all will be forgiven.

Well, no need for an "accident", slap yourself on the wrist and have dinner out of a can and all is well...:D

You are indeed sir, generous to a fault.

I am humbled.

xoxoxoBruce 08-03-2014 06:46 PM

Yes, we've been meaning to address that fault. :haha:

Clodfobble 08-04-2014 12:12 PM

I dunno, but that's something digital in the boy's hands, so the picture can't be that old. Which means they had to be famous as infants, or maybe are the kids of someone famous.

Or an infant and a toddler.

Edit: And this is actually a clue of sorts.

Is this Charlie and his brother of Charlie Bit Me fame?

glatt 08-04-2014 01:15 PM

Yes!

Gravdigr 08-04-2014 02:04 PM

I wonder if Charlie is sorry about his brother's finger?

DanaC 08-07-2014 03:09 PM

Don't know....but bloody hell he don't half look like J's dad!

Undertoad 08-07-2014 04:45 PM

This is Peter Gabriel.

Undertoad 08-07-2014 04:46 PM

I was a big fan

http://cellar.org/2014/genesisfive.jpg

infinite monkey 08-07-2014 05:04 PM

I'm still a big fan, but I can't say I remembered his face.

Freaking brilliant man.

Jeux sans frontieres

footfootfoot 08-07-2014 05:10 PM

It's a knock-out

infinite monkey 08-07-2014 05:13 PM

That's funny. I opened up youtube in another tab to listen to the song and as soon as I read what you posted that lyric came on.

infinite monkey 08-07-2014 05:17 PM

If looks could kill they probably will

glatt 08-07-2014 05:26 PM

Nice! I thought it might be a little difficult because his face was a bit scrunched up in a smile.

lumberjim 08-07-2014 11:50 PM

His stuff was on Spotify for about 2 weeks, but now it's gone. So, I'm mad at him.

I really liked his US album. Blood of Eden was very cool.

Anyway, he looks like a town elder from an episode of star trek where they find perfectly human indiginee on some remote planet and go down and learn some bit of social wisdom that is relevant to our present day society.

DanaC 08-08-2014 03:15 AM

Ahhh! I used to love him.

Oh, I bet you're right CF. I was looking at it thinking "i KNOW her" but I couldn't come up with anything. When you said Jennifer Lawrence, well that's gotta be right!

Gravdigr 09-16-2014 03:19 PM

J-Law!

Gogo Clod!

Sorry for the delay.

Undertoad 09-18-2014 09:34 PM

who is

http://cellar.org/2014/18092014whoisit.jpg

yeah both dudes are in play

xoxoxoBruce 09-18-2014 10:23 PM

Meatloaf and Jim Steinman

Undertoad 09-18-2014 10:31 PM

An outstanding but wrong guess

Carruthers 09-19-2014 12:29 AM

Robbie Coltrane on the left.

Undertoad 09-19-2014 06:37 AM

Correct

Undertoad 09-19-2014 07:07 AM

Your hint on gent #2. It was too hard because I love this guy and I hardly recognize him in the shot with Mr Coltrane

http://cellar.org/2014/18092014whoisithint.jpg

glatt 09-19-2014 07:24 AM

Is that Glenn Tilbrook?

Undertoad 09-19-2014 07:26 AM

You are correct sir. In a very unusual haircut for his time. Which was 1985.

glatt 09-19-2014 07:52 AM

An unusual haircut for him too. I can't find any other pictures of him with hair that long.

Gravdigr 09-24-2014 10:06 AM

It was just in the news, so this one prolly won't last long.

This will be an 'in make up' episode of Who Is This...

So...Who is this?

Attachment 49134

I thought it was Brad Pitt.

It ain't Brad Pitt.

infinite monkey 09-24-2014 10:07 AM

John Malkovich! As somebody! Or not!
