Came across the kid's videos on Youtube, reviewing Doctor Who toys and stuff - his latest video is a little bit heartbreaking (he's being bullied at school and is thinking of quitting his youtube channel

Any chance some dwellars could subscribe to his channel and show him some love?

Wow, I wonder who created that?

Pierre Zufferey got lucky on May 29 for a second year in a row after capturing a second video of the annual mud and debris flow rushing down Illhorn Mountain. The violent flow is triggered by rainfall, which causes the sudden movement of water, mud and rocks. The time of the debris flow is unpredictable, but its full force was captured in this video. Credit: YouTube/Pierre Zufferey via Storyful

What if critters were round?

I've been bitching about these assholes for years. Now it's on youtube, that must make it a proven scientific fact. Amirite!

The point about driving "in the middle" is good in theory, however it falls apart when examined. If you are traveling the same speed as the car in front of you at a safe distance, and the car behind you wants to go faster and is tailgating you, you can only get "in the middle" by speeding up to get away from the car behind you. But that will close the safe gap you had in front of you, so now you are the tailgater who has to brake hard all the time when there is a slowdown. Plus the driver behind you is a tailgater themselves, so they aren't going to let you increase the gap behind your car. They will close it. The only power against traffic you have as a driver is to follow the car in front of you at a safe distance and match its speed. Better yet, try to dampen the stop and go bullshit they are pulling by leaving a large enough gap in front of you that you never have to slam on your brakes.

Also, automated cars will not get rid of traffic lights because there are still pedestrians who need to cross the street.

I agree with the video that once traffic is heavy in all lanes, it's the abrupt lane changers who turn it into stop and go traffic instead of heavy flowing traffic.

Pedestrians? Pedestrians are just soylent green. We can't have them holding up traffic. :headshake

The video doesn't address the asshole in the left lane going the same speed as those in the center or right lanes.

xoxoxoBruce 06-13-2017 06:41 PM

Crazy shit, especial the ones on bikes.

In heavy traffic where there is someone directly in front of them, or where the lane ahead is empty?

Makes a huge difference.

xoxoxoBruce 06-13-2017 11:24 PM

That's a stupid question, you know what the fuck he's talking about. :eyebrow:

glatt 06-14-2017 07:35 AM

No I don't. The video is discussing heavy stop-and-go traffic, which would tend to make me think that is what he is talking about.

But in heavy stop-and-go traffic, every single person in the left lane WANTS to be going faster than they are. None of them are assholes.

So maybe it's not about heavy stop-and-go traffic. Or maybe it is. Beats me.

Well, now, if they're people...;)

They're assholes, is what I'm sayin'. Regardless of lane choice.

Make your own laser light show... if you trust a redhead who wears a watch.
