What's your favorite medication?

I suspect many of you are heavily medicated, so what's your favorite medication? :yum:

BigV 02-10-2006 01:46 PM

Vitamin I

Ibuprophen

Excellent choice.

Do you take it intravenously, vaginally, orally, nasally, in the ear, up the ass, or as a patch?

glatt 02-10-2006 02:09 PM

Pseudoephedrine HCl (30 mg) for teh stuffy nose

These days, I have to show my driver's license and sign a book to get any, but still worth it.

wolf 02-10-2006 02:09 PM

I have a prescription for my favorite medication.

It says "Beer, 1 pint q15 minutes until unconscious."

My doctor is an excellent doctor, because he crossed out "Brand Necessary" and wrote for "Substittution Permissible."

(real script, real doctor)

Trilby 02-10-2006 02:16 PM

So very many choices...a favorite, eh?

Demerol, 100mg IV q 30 min. prn while conscious is a pretty good suggestion.

On the fly, I like the percocet.

Of course, a nice Ester C tablet can get you through some tough times as well and is a lot easier on the body.

xoxoxoBruce 02-10-2006 02:20 PM

Chicken soup and mother's milk fixes everything.

Does the soup also come from mom's teat? Does she give chili?

Or vicodiene (sp?). For recreation only. Makes me constipated.

Alcohol, caffeine, sugar, network TV.

Do you scoot on the rug when constipated? Is that part of the joy? Have you ever tried dry-fucking?

Trilby 02-10-2006 03:29 PM

vicodin.

Now I'm wondering what's up with Humbug. weird.

Here too, what a royal pain in the ass. Thanks meth heads. It does do the job though, much better than anything else.

jinx 02-10-2006 03:30 PM

When I saw a chiro a while back, he was really surprised that I wasn't taking at least one prescription medication regularly, I guess in his experience most people do. What the hell? Do you take 1 or more prescription medications regularly?

I really like these vitamins though. (the women's blends either have too much iron (for me) or none)
And this stuff cures everything.

Elspode 02-10-2006 03:40 PM

Flexoril, hands down.

marichiko 02-10-2006 07:43 PM

Gee, so many meds, so little time! Xanax is nice to have on hand in case of an anxiety attack. Most of the opiate type pain killers make me blow grits, so I have to be in pretty bad pain to decide that puking my guts out is worth a percodan. In fact, I think I gave my last vicodin prescription away to the Momster. Decongestants give me the willies for some reason. Benadryl and the like make me want to crawl out of my skin. All in all, I'd have to go with aspirin and Jack Daniels. If one or both of these can't cure whatever happens to be ailing me, I just tough it out.

monster 02-10-2006 08:07 PM

I'm with wolf. Beer until it doesn't hurt any moore :) Can you get me a prescription too? That's cool

Griff 02-10-2006 08:47 PM

Nexium (now that that Protonix raised their price), so I can drink my booze and eat any freaking thing I want mostly.

seakdivers 02-10-2006 10:11 PM

Wolf - you really need to come up for a visit. Beer is my favorite medication as well. We could drink beer and watch movies for days!

WabUfvot5 02-10-2006 10:35 PM

Ativan is really nice. Anything with opiates tickle my fancy but it has to be pretty strong to have an effect these days. Benedryl is also nice if congested. Versed (sometimes spelled Verset) is great when it hits; sadly it's very hard to remain conscious after that. Dilauded (opiate) is fantastic too. Mustn't forget demerol either.

SteveDallas 02-10-2006 11:02 PM

Along wolf's lines it'd have to be Scotch. (Martinis are great too but they require effort to mix.) If you're talking about "real medications," it would have to be extra strength Excedrin hands down.

seakdivers 02-11-2006 12:40 AM

Oh wait - now I like my beer, but I see that Ativan was mentioned by Jebediah. It's not my favorite, but it's the only thing that will get me on a jet. I am f***ing terrified of flying, and it's the only thing that will help.

Doesn't it give you halucinations? Or is that the reason you like it so much?

I'm flying out to LA this weekend on business. Since the stuff is made in CA, I might find it on the shelves somewhere.

jinx 02-11-2006 10:30 AM

Its not hard to find locally rich, I've seen it at most HFS's, Whole foods, Wegmans, Walmart....

wolf 02-11-2006 11:40 AM

CVS has it, rich, so does Walgreens.

xoxoxoBruce 02-11-2006 12:14 PM

How long do you have to wait for the fizz to go away? :eyebrow:

jinx 02-11-2006 12:17 PM

Not long, a few seconds.. or use a straw.
However, if you put 3 packs in a glass and add water it will volcano all over your kitchen.

Some call it "bannination". Or "guestville".

marichiko 02-11-2006 03:12 PM

Humbug is the sole person on my ignore list. This works nicly for me. He has no existance in my own little seperate reality and I enjoy my Humbug free life.

elSicomoro 02-11-2006 04:58 PM

I got Percocet last year when I recovered slowly from a heart catheterization. That was nice...wheeeeeeeee! Vioxx was nice, too...I took that on occasion for arthritis pain. I got Vicodin when I had all my wisdom teeth pulled last spring, and it wasn't as cool as I thought it'd be.

MaggieL 02-11-2006 07:27 PM

Vicodin is nice when you need it...I saved what I had left over from my wisdom tooth extraction, which came along just in time because I'd finally used the last one from my surgery, which was *ages* ago.

Never thought of EmergenC as being a drug, as such...but it *is* great stuff.

Empty packs into dry glass. Add a *little* water, wait for phizz to phinish.

Then add the rest of the water.

Tonchi 02-11-2006 07:47 PM

The only drug for wisdom tooth extraction or any dental surgery is Percodan. Wash down with a nice Merlot :D

To quote Marcellus Wallace, the surgery in question was "pretty fuckin' far" from dental. :-)

Now that is odd. Although I suppose it depends on the age of patients he usually sees. My parents & Grandfather are all on more than 1 prescribed medication, but at my age it's definitely the exception rather than the norm.

Unless it includes contraception of course. In which case I think it includes every woman I talk to on a regular basis. Which would make my reply Implanon - the little bar in my arm that means I don't have to think about things like that again until 2007.

barefoot serpent 02-13-2006 10:57 AM

'bout 100 cc of pheno-barb should fix BUMHUGs wagon.

CzinZumerzet 02-13-2006 12:26 PM

 Just a glug of Zumerzet Zyder. Cures all. :p
