Rename Blue58 contest

This is my 3000th post. I have been honored in the past by blue58, who dedicated his 200th post, and possibly his 300th to me. ( i think he actually screwed up and used it bitching at sycamore....but he meant to, i think)

I would like to return the favor.

Blue, I did not ask your permission to do this, but tough shit. If you don;t like all the attention, too bad. we like you.

So, you said once or twice that you chose your username hastily, and were interested in changing it to something better. UT says its's no prob technically, so I say we all suggest new names for you (sorry in advance for all of the wisecracks you're about to endure). We can even argue about whether or not to change it at all.

You are the only judge in this contest, so choose wisely. And if you go with a name that you've thought of already, fine. We won't think any less of you, you lame ass, making us waste all this time and effort. christ.

perth 05-25-2004 07:01 PM

Hahahaha!

LJ, you really fucked this one up!

OK I was expecting something special, but this, this....I think I'm gonna cry.

I really have no say in this do I?

When's the deadline?

When I get a chance I'll explain the blue58 to the non CMEP people.

lumberjim 05-25-2004 07:08 PM

ah! perth, you dick! now i can;t delet the thread!!!

edit: i deleted this once, but in all honesty THIS was my 3000th post, given that i used jinx's log in to post this thread.

blue, you jinxed me, you hammer!

When my eyes scan along reading posts, mentally I just always note him as "blue."

I like the name Blue, actually, but it really really doesn't work with our last name so alas, I'll never get to name a child of mine Blue. Therefore, I'll suggest it here.

Undertoad 05-25-2004 08:52 PM

Doesn't the merge really screw it all up worse?

lumberjim 05-25-2004 09:36 PM

i don't think so. i think having 2 threads about the same thing is worse.

This is quite possible only funny to me ... but

MS-Contin (long acting pain relief)

And there has to be some kind of MicroSloth joke in there somewhere ... MS-Nerd, mebbe ... not to actually imply that Blue58 is any kind of a nerd, actually. I do find him to be quite the cool fellow despite his irrational love for the Packers (go Bears).

lumberjim 05-26-2004 10:19 AM

blue,

what names were you considering?

how about:

FarmerTed

Fudgie

Isometimesloiter

miscreant

spanky

TheGrandInquisitor

Pimphand

Cornholio

The Grinch

Funk You

Chainsaw

c'mon people, give up some names

I was thinking 'green58', myself. . .

lumberjim 05-26-2004 11:58 AM

oh, you just loooove that online thesaurus, don;t ya?

"on a bun" that's perfect. it has ass AND drunken connotations

jaguar 05-26-2004 12:38 PM

that list doesn`t include pissed.

That`s a crap list.

OnyxCougar 05-26-2004 03:15 PM

*confused* Why are we renaming Blue?

Clodfobble 05-26-2004 03:21 PM

He's mentioned before that he doesn't really like it. He just picked his high school football number, never realizing his user name would become important as he grew totally addicted to the Cellar.

Slartibartfast 05-26-2004 03:25 PM

Do you think he's the only one with name problems?:D

Happy Monkey 05-26-2004 03:45 PM

Your name... is not important.

elSicomoro 05-26-2004 03:59 PM

I've been laughing over "Sweet Ass" all day. I can't be giddy...I slept 7 hours last night.

Shouldn't that be mis-spelling intentional?

Besides...too close to blue58 in the first place.

WHERE IN THE FUCK, did you come up with this??

OK, blue58...my handle from a football board, if any of you have watched Favre a little he is always barking this out at the line...I'm a Packer fan so I've heard it thousands of times over the years. In fact it's considered almost sacred on the football board.

And I'll admit I just used it to register here, never realizing how beloved I'd be come, and needing a new handle....inspired by LJ's 3000th post. Look at my post count, now compare LJ and my register dates ;-)

Played a little football in Junior high....practiced like a dog but they wouldn't let me play in an actual game...too little.

blue 05-26-2004 06:54 PM

Others I didn't have a clue about:

Nick Burns?
Terrance, Philip? Is that the south park guys?
Royston? wtf?

I kind of like "Blue", but it has no meaning.
"Fuzzybutt", but it sounds too gay.
Like "on the bun" but I've NEVER heard it before...how do I know you're not fucking with me?
Spanky is cool...is it taken UT?

Wolf is a Bears fan?! I understand that there are a lot of Eagles fans here...it's not your fault. And LJ is a freaking Cowboys fan (is his fault...he's retarded after all).

Happy Monkey 05-26-2004 06:56 PM

I don't know why "Terrence" came up, but South Park is the reason I followed up with Philip...

blue 05-26-2004 06:58 PM

They were the "ha, ha...you smell like my ass"pair?

:)

Happy Monkey 05-26-2004 06:59 PM

Indeed. And they're from Canada.

Undertoad 05-26-2004 07:12 PM

Spanky is not taken.

Happy Monkey 05-26-2004 07:17 PM

Spanky!

Your profile says that you are/were a "frustrated IT guy" so I picked the name of Jimmy Fallon's character on SNL that fits that description to a "T." The "Nick Burns" skits are funny as hell to me but then again my wife is in IT and I'm kind of a geek, too.

Here's the script for one of the skits.

Clodfobble 05-26-2004 08:16 PM

WHERE IN THE FUCK, did you come up with this??

Pulled it out of my ass, apparently. I could have sworn you told us that at one point...

Happy Monkey 05-26-2004 08:55 PM

Oh, for a frustrated IT guy, what's better than "the BOFH"?

I spent my formative years, when one's sport's alliances are set in stone, in Glen Ellyn, DuPage County, Illinois. I am also a Cubs fan. The Blackhawks, despite a congenital inability to win, are the greatest hockey team in the world. I never really gave much of a damn about basketball. Go figure, one team that EVER freaking won anything, and I can't get excited about it.

lumberjim 05-27-2004 05:59 PM

that's it? is that all the names we can think of?
