Ah Grav, very sad.
You did what you could.
At that point it's either risking stress or providing an easy, crunchy meal for a predator.

Odds were against.
You still tried.
Good on you.

I do keep reading this as Dove of the Yard.
Which has the feeling of a detective story from between the wars.

Henceforth, all of our doves will be known as 'Inspector Dove, of the Yard'.

After all, they do seem to just sit around on the wire, or the tree limb, or the eaves, or the gutters and just inspect things in general.

Yay!
Please note, they all need to be a bit bumbling and need help from someone sharper and quicker-witted. An amateur of course.

These days s/he'd be DCI Dove, a maverick solving cases on intuition. And smacking around some (stool) pigeons on the way.

Juanco, I'm sorry to say that I thought you'd missed the bus on that photo. It's just a nest.
Then I looked again and saw dove :ninja:
Camouflage, not just an urban trouser pattern.

The doves we get here seem to be very tolerant. And photogenic.

Supper on the wing.

I can't decide if that one's Dovey Doorite, or, Dovie Smith...

I'm leaning toward Dovey Doorite...I'm not a Tampa Bay fan.
