Thin the Herd Guitars. I have been trying to get back into playing electric guitar.
This is my 1987 American Standard Stratocsster. I got it in 1988. Been mostly in its case for 25 years. When I took it to a shop to get set up, he told me the neck was warped too much to correct. Bummer. A new fender neck is $550. I looked at warmoth necks and would spend the same for a custom fancy neck made of exotic wood like wenge or ebony or coco bolo. And that would hurt the value of my guitar. So maybe I can get the neck fixed, but meanwhile I ordered this:
Custom built parts caster for $449 shipped. Was listed for $645, but the guy must need to move it out because he offered the discount when I asked if he could upgrade the neck. Seems like I can't really lose even if I don't love the way it plays. If I hate it, I can replace the components and learn to build a guitar using the body. Sure is pretty.
