It was painted by Zykov Gennady Mikhailovich (1931~2013) of Moldova.
I like it.
I like a lot of his extensive body of work.
He was a loyal Soviet citizen but some of his works depict the worst side of the Soviet Regime, but are not blatantly labeled.
Some of his paintings I've seen around the net do not appear on the
official online archive in Russia.
I read some of his paintings had been "recalled". It didn't say by whom or for what reason, but I have some guesses.
