I think I know what you mean about the whole contempt of court thing, but in this particular case the judge must have been scared of bad press or something. He put off sentencing the nun for 6 weeks during which time he asked her to reconsider her stance, telling her that she really would not like conditions at the local county jail. I don't know what happened when she re-appeared before him. I meant to follow the case, but forgot.
