Between I-95 and the Delaware River, smack up against Philadelphia, PA, International Airport, lies the gritty little Township of Tinicum.
Behind the closed, 500 acre, former Westinghouse Steam Turbine plant, there's a strip of high (5 to 10 foot) grass and weeds to the river.
Back in the 20's and 30's a different kind of grass grew here in abundance. There were also several rough board Jazz and Blues houses that world famous musicians would drop in to jam and score some weed for the road.
Alas those days are gone the way of swordfighting and knickers......the weeds have reverted to the domain of the critters. I've seen rats you could saddle back there.
Anyway, these racks were taken with a bow & arrow within a half mile of the runways. Maybe the noise of the planes helped the hunter get close enough to score with an arrow in that thicket.
I thought this thread was a better place than 404's deer thread.
