I did the same thing! The ones who obviously put in lots of effort got better loot. There was one kid who had the coolest pirate costume on, and another little girl was the Statue of Liberty, complete with green painted face and torch. It looked like mom had hand-made the entire costume with lots of love. I wanted to give the
parents candy, too, in those cases!
