The 8800 looks nice, but I'm sad that Nikon is moving away from the split body/swivel lens cameras. The 995 was great for shooting from very high or very low angles. I have so many pictures of my kids from their height, and I didn't have to lie down on the floor to take them. You just hold the camera down low, and tilt the screen so you can frame properly. It was also great for shooting above all the heads in a crowd and being able to see what you were zooming in on.
I guess they were too funny looking and the public didn't want them. That body style was far superior to the standard traditional camera style.
