I haven't played with the 8800 so I don't have a good feel for how the swivel monitor works. I hope it has as much freedom as the 995 did. It's hard to tell from the pictures.
Have you had the chance to pick one up and play with it?
The CCD and the lens look really impressive, and I think the shutter lag time is probably much improved. The 8800 looks like a really good camera, I just would hate to see that one feature dissapear. It made "creative" pictures so effortless. I bet fewer than half of my digital pictures with the 995 are taken at eye level. Most are probably taken at waist level. A groin's eye view of the world.
