Reminds me of a story my dad told me once. He was at his physics lab, getting ready for a visit by some VIP, and there was a cricket somewhere in the lab, chirping away like crazy. Really loud. It just wouldn't do for this VIP to hear the cricket. The lab is full of expensive optics and electronics, so using some sort of spray poison to kill the hidden cricket was out of the question. It would get in the air and contaminate the optics. So my dad went over to a big tank of liquid nitrogen they had for cooling something, and filled up a foam coffee cup. He knew the cricket was somewhere behind/underneath one particular bench, so he threw a couple of cups full of the liquid nitrogen back there until the loud chirping stopped.
