It is not a family event, unless your family is already really fucked up.
It is not a means of honoring the accomplishments of people who are doctors, lawyers, police, firefighters, tailors, deli counter workers, etc. who
also happen to be gay.
That's what I mean by marginalizing.
I feel the same way about "Pagan Pride Festivals" which usually occur on a much smaller, and much less noticed scale, but have the wierdness turned up too.
