You are in that fun state called betrayal by the one you loved and trusted most. You get to go through shock, disbelief, pain, rage, and all the other exciting steps of the grieving process. You'll get to isolate at home alternating with desperate nights out on the town cruising the bars. You'll have the wonderful night when you encounter her out somewhere with the new guy acting madly in love. They'll be thrilling moments with the divorce lawyers and possibly in court, as well. You'll have happy times dividing up your common property, deciding who gets what. The best part will be when she threatens to cut the cat in half with an ax - you can take the rear, she'll take the front. Her friends will treat you like you've become a serial murderer overnight. Your friends will commiserate with you and tell you to get over it and start dating again. They'll try to fix you up with their cousin Sue who weighs 300 pounds and keeps a pet boa constrictor that she sleeps with every night. Some day you look back on it all and laugh. Well, not really. But time will pass and one day you'll be out walking the boa constrictor with your new girl friend and you'll notice a bag lady going through a dumpster. After you walked three more blocks, you'll suddenly realize the bag lady was your ex and you'll chuckle evily to yourself and the sinking feeling will have vanished.
