Hardware is a 1U rack-mount server from Supermicro, with a Pentium 2500, a nice Seagate drive, 1GB of memory. It has this bag-ass fan cooling the thin heat sink in the 1U configuration. I have three of these machines in this space, and so far so good. I like how they are in someone else's room because they are LOUD
Software is Linux, Red Hat Fedora, the latest and greatest, all updated.
