Interesting story. It is certainly very one sided and doesn't give much background information on the crime. What little it gives is quickly glossed over to dwell on the emotional side of things.
It sounds much worse when you present the following facts:
Adult male has history of sexual interests in minors.
Victim's mother gets protective order to keep him away from the 14 year old girl.
He violates the protective order and also commits statutory rape.
He got caught.
He's going to jail for less than a year.
Oh yeah, they got married at some point.
What the hell is up with Nebraska that they let 15 year olds get married? Or was she 14 then? Article doesn't say.
I wonder if they can make a condition of his parole be that he has to stay away from his victim.
