Honestly, I think I know what this is. I vaguely remember something in connection with the Running where before the bulls are let loose, the participants have this giant tomato fight. A person tries to climb a greased-up pole and grab a ham placed atop it. When that happens, dump trucks just empty tomatos into the street and the people chuck them at each other.

Again, this is a jumble of recollections, I am almost assuredly wrong.
