But the Displacement
is the actual total weight of the ship.
If the density of the water varies,(warm, cold, fresh, salt) what changes is how far the ship settles into the water. But, the weight of the water displaced will
always equal the weight of the ship.
Because Archimedes wouldn't lie to us, his oldest and dearest friends, I've no idea what they meant by the two weight figures.
