I won't be sad to see Tony Blair go, but it won't be a day of celebration for me the way it was when Margaret Thatcher was finally shown the door.

I'm interested to see what happens next. I'd like to see Gordon Brown take the reins - whoever is our next leader will have to make a lot of changes, which means more money wasted. At least Mr Brown has experience of holding the purse strings and is used to dealing at the highest level.

I shudder to think that a protest vote at the next general election could give us David "call me Dave" Cameron as a PM.

I don't mind my PMs dour and uncharismatic. I don't want to invite them round for tea, I want a safe pair of hands!
