Thanks for all the good wishes, my friends. We had a marvelous time yesterday. The weather was cool and beautiful, and between ritual attendance and those who came later, we ended up having about 75 people during the course of the day. I saw some old friends I hadn't seen in ages, and met some new ones (special tip of the birthday hat to Barefoot Serpent, who biked over, although not all the way from Lawrence, making him the offical first Cellarite I have met in person). Thanks to another person we all know here, the day was made even more special than it would have been otherwise, and I offer a big thanks and a special manly hug to the responsible party, who I will not name since I don't know if they'd want me to.
We lit a fire in the firepit as the sun went down and saw the evening out in style. I got fun gifts, ate well, and probably didn't pay enough attention to people that I should have (Barefoot Serpent and I conversed during the setup of the festivities, but once they took off, I was earbending all day long with a bunch of people. I did find out that he has a real interesting job, though).
I was hoping to top off my festivities today by wrapping up a couple of loose ends here at work and heading home early to play the new video game I got, but alas, I have two staffers off sick, and so I must put my aged nose to the grindstone once again. ;-)
