Absolutely...if there's any likelyhood at all that you'll need an ambulance, especially in the city, an advance donation to your local volunteer ambulance corps is a very wise investment. It may also get you better care, depending on where you live.
This is far from either the first or the last time the City of Philadelphia has "socked it to" the taxpayers of the State...and now that your buddy Rendell is elected, we can probably expect to see a lot more moves in that direction. Good thing the Govenor doesn't have much power here in the Commonwealth. :-)
