I disagree with that statement and think it should read.....
Most people naturally avoid hurting others
like themselves, if for no other reason than because of the natural empathy felt between humans
that they have something in common with.
I say this because of observing people being rather quick to zero in on anyone different, odd or strange, and being human seems to have low priority.
