The first Casino Royale was'nt a Brocolli film. ISTR that Fleming sold all the right to his novels, save for Casino Royale, to Brocci's outfit. With the one stipulation..... they could use the characters and the titles, but NOT the plot of the novels.... which is why the films were nowt like the books.
Why Casino Royale (the first Bond novel) was excluded, I don't know.
