The subconscious is an amazing thing. Your mind picks-up on subtle clues and innuendos that you cannot imagine, truly. This was my major in school and what I continued to study until this day.
"Your gut" is far more "actual" than what you imagine it to be... there is a reason for it. If the reason is strong & you have other realistic options, I say listen to it.
