42 Commando, under Colonel H, began the long push to Port Stanley.
They force-marched across some of the roughest terrain in the world, including mosquito-infested bogs and marshes. All the way, they were subjugated to dysentry and diarrhea. In order to minimise the chafing ans soreness afflicted by tight-fitting thermal undwear (the falklands are *cold*) they discarded the underwear and 'went commando'.
