Thanks for the advice Griff. The Trek 520's are a little pricier than I'd like but I might try and find a used one in my size.

I plan to free/bush camp 99% of the time. So front and rear panniers are mandatory from what I hear.

I've done most of my mileage planning assuming 40-50 miles/day average. At 140 miles/day I don't think you'd actually enjoy the ride!
