These people are just trying to make a living - annoyingly, I grant you. I listen, say "no, thank you", they usually try to overcome an objection, I say "no, thank you. Goodbye", and that's that. Why be mean or rude?

When the phone companies were all competing for business, I would always embellish my existing plan, and the knuckleheads would come up with some outrageous counter-offer. I got my phone bill reduced by about 70% over 3 months, just by taking the next best offer that came down the road. :p
