I remember one time, coming back to Taiwan from Thailand, I had a multi-screwdriver (for string/locking nut adjustment) in my guitar case, which was my carryon... the security at the Phuket Airport almost stopped me, but I actually rationally and logically convinced them it was not a threat at all. They let me keep it.
That, ladies and gentlemen, is GOOD airport security.
