And I'm sure that if you look at the back of your card, perth, you'll notice that it probably says "Not valid unless signed."

Not that that "ask for ID" thing is necessarily bad, but I firmly believe that merchants should ask for ID whenever you use a credit card. That doesn't happen a lot here in Philadelphia from what I've seen, but they do it quite a bit in St. Louis.
