Although I can't say I agreed with the man's politics, his power and presence as an actor was unparalleled (and I believe in the right to keep and bear arms, or to keep and arm bears). Without him, Planet of the Apes would have been even more cheesy than it was. Without him, I would lack *any* clear mental picture of Moses.
Chuck was one of the greats, one of the last of a breed. I always miss his ilk when they're gone, and I always will.
