Also, I should note, we have this weird variation called "indoor soccer" which is played on artificial turf in a hockey rink. The goals are a different size and there are strange new tactics with the walls. I think this survives because of the youth market - there is a Philadelphia team and it gets a good crowd of youngsters.

Also, when it's not basketball or hockey season, the arenas are probably cheaper to rent and the teams probably get a great deal.
