You know, a couple weeks back I was reading the Battlestar Galactica recaps on Television Without Pity. (It doesn't take much to amuse me sometimes.) The writer of the recap is describing the president's visit to one of the ships in the first episode: "The captain is the only male African-American seen so far, so you know this ship is doomed." I immediately wondered... African-American?? Perhaps the actor is African-American. But the character? On a spaceship fleeing a bombed-out planet in a fictional universe where Earth, and presumably both Africa and America, may not even exist??
